Yeah, Rose for Summer, bud break, harvest photos, odd moments sabering champagne, the life of the wine writer! That said, nice work on the Rhône rosé. Although I'm very impressed with all the accent and circumflex inclusion. Details matter.
At this stage in my rosé drinking days, I only want a Tavel from France. Everything else is falling short on flavor or uniqueness to me. They just taste the same after a while. I get the American consumers are super uneducated about rosé still, but eh. Kind of over French rosé. I still have to drink it to sell it year after year, but I think I officially hit the bored mark on many of them.
It's definitely nice to have a departure from the sameness! Sancerre rosé can also be pretty interesting, we reviewed one we really liked a couple years back that stood out - the 2021 Herve Baudry Romana Rosé made from Pinot Noir. Idk if you've tasted that, but would be interested to know your thoughts! But agreed that a ton of what is out there is pretty middling and interchangeable.
I have tried that, it is nice, agree. I think I prefer these days a pinot rosé from Germany. But I think I got massively burned out on French rosé wines. They dominate the market here and consumers think they should only be drinking them 🤦🏻♀️ so instinctively my brain is like NO! But a Tavel, I am here for, always.

Thânks David - we are sticklers for the details!
Well played.

I liked your comment on Ernest Hemingway - hallmarks of both his dedication to the arts, and alcoholism
